I am currently a freshman at the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.  In 2009, I graduated fromWestfield High School in New Jersey, where I was Tri-Editor-in-Chief of Hi’s Eye, the official weekly student newspaper.  At college, I have begun to work with new media formats as well. As a college student, I am very interested in the power of young adults’ unique voices and hope to empower them.  Life & Style

I’m a senior at Brewster High School in Brewster, New York. I have an affinity for rhetoric and the writing process. I would consider myself a bibliovore and a linguaphile. I spend most of my time reading and writing. Lauren Glass

I’m currently a junior at Syracuse University studying magazine journalism and political science.  I’m from a city just outside of Detroit, Michigan and my dad lives in Negril, Jamaica.  Before college, I lived and worked at a school in South Africa and my biggest dream is to travel as much as possible.  I really enjoy yoga, politics and “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia”.  I had a brief love affair with fashion until I realized that I’m not the fashionista I aspire to be (Carrie Bradshaw), but still enjoy it nonetheless.  When I graduate in 2011, I hope to join the Peace Corps or get some sort of writing job, but for now I’m just enjoying my college experience and trying to write as much as possible.     News & Opinion

I currently attend El Camino College in Los Angeles, CA. I am hoping to transfer to a small, private liberal arts college by next year. I have a variety of interests so I have not decided on what I will be majoring in. I may possibly major in journalism or art history before going on to study psychiatry in medical school. I currently work roughly 30 hours per week as well as attend college.  I am really excited about HSK! Writing means a lot to me and I think it is vital for us to express ourselves and share our ideas. College & Career

I’m currently 17-years-old and attending my last year at High School. My hobbies are drawing, reading, and watching Television shows that involve mystery. After high school I’m attending the Art Institute of Hollywood hoping it can help push me towards my dream of becoming a Graphic Novelist. I am an aspiring photographer. Born and raised in Miami, I am a senior in high school and I will be attending Parsons School of Design in New York as photography major.  About three years ago I wanted to turn my hobby into a career.   I first took photography classes at Miami Dade Community College where I learned all the technical aspects.  Last summer I attended a summer analog photography course at Parsons in New York where I learned how to develop photos and use the darkroom.  When I returned to Miami, I began to work on my portfolio for college.      Photography/Illustration

I am currently a sophomore at Arnold O. Beckman High School, working as the Sports Editor for our high school newspaper. Sport’s is what truly interests me, and I could sit in front of the TV watching ESPN all day. Writing for sports as a career is my dream, as is playing Madden for 24 hours, watching a Korean soccer game in the World Cup from the sidelines, and shaking the hand of each of the members of The Killers. I’m a student and Notre Dame High School and I became interested in journalism my freshmen year. Until that point, it never hit me how important news and media were to society. I wanted to become a part of everything that these things stood for: to inform others about the world; to relate everything, the good and the bad. These are the things that matter. Because every word counts, every sentence affects whoever reads it.  College & Career

I am currently a junior at Sylmar High School. I like to see myself as being a kind, open-minded, friendly, and intelligent person. I am really goal oriented and like to achieve what I set my mind to. So far I want to go to college and plan to be very successful when I grow up. I’m one of those people that try to help everyone they can. I can be shy at times but for the most part can get along with almost anybody. My favorite color is green, I love to listen to music, hang out with friends, and every once in awhile play sports.
