Everyone has an opinion about attending a community college versus a 4-year college. Many think attending a community college means not getting the real college experience–that it is last resort, and might even be seen as a burden for some students.

The fee hike of $2,500, or 32%, will come in two steps by next fall. That would bring the basic UC tuition up to about $10,300, plus another $1,000 for campus-based charges, for a total that is almost tripled the cost of UC tuition a decade ago. Room, board and books can add another $16,000.

New Moon has hit theaters, and despite all of the pomp and circumstance surrounding it, the movie offers a pretty boring and predictable plot. The story begins with a vampire, otherwise known as Edward, breaking up with a girl, Bella, for her own safety. The girl takes it hard and becomes emotionally depressed, until another boy Jacob the werewolf enters her life, and they begin to have a close relationship. The audience can almost predict the ending as it is apparent that Bella will choose Edward over Jacob, which kind of ruins the movie.

Recent photos of Cubs slugger Sammy Sosa suggest that he may have interfered with the laws of nature. He appears much lighter, as if he bleached his skin. Sosa glibly attributes the startling change in appearance to a face cream that he used to “soften” his skin.
